Well I hope everybody had a

lovely Valentine's Day!!

Here is the gift I made for my

Valentine: Zombie Josh!

We really like The Walking Dead

graphic novel and TV series so

trust me its the perfect gift

for a Zombie lover!

I made him a matching Valentine:)

Kinda like I used to make when

I was a kid...

I would always make "fancier" ones

for my besties:)

That says it all...right?

I also took my pictures today using the

new light box I made!!

Here are my latest pieces I've been making this month:)

This is a teenie lil needle felted bear named Love!

Here is my very first marionette:)

Sugar the Skullie Girl!

She is a combination of hard sculpted body

and head:) Then molded plastic arms,

legs, and hands...I hand made the hat!

She is fully poseable and dances great!

She has lots of points of movement making her

very lively!! She is a lot of fun!

Here is Sweaters the Sequel:)

He is a sweet lil water bottle cat!

Sweaters has nice strong legs made from wood!

I used my awesome table saw to cut them:)

I had an order for one of my Finn hats:)

And I included this as a lil free gift...

These were given to the guests as favors!

I heard the kids really loved them and put

them on immediately after opening them:)

It is a combination of hard sculpted elements

and needle felted pieces:)

Two owls reside in the tree:) Jeff and Kaki

They can sit in the tree all day or fly around...

The tiny lil steps are for their bug friends to visit:)

This is a work-in-progress piece that I am

making right now. The lil bag will contain fish...

This doll is made from a recycled glass bottle

as well as newspaper and plaster cloth...

I knitted all of the soft elements...

I wet felted her dreads:) And the kids hair...

They are dreaded with lots of color!

I really like how this piece is coming along...

I will share more as it progresses...

I made funny lil collars with shrinky dinks:)

Fancy was made from a recycled water bottle,

newspaper, and also a lil scrap wood. She's finished

with acrylic paints and matte varnish!

New Year...New Works...

Happy New Year!!

This is my very first piece of 2012:)

I was actually working on her minutes after the ball dropped...

For those of you who don't know,

I do my best work in the wee hours of the night/morning:)

Here's my sketch I started with...

Obviously this is why I'm a sculptor and not a graphic artist:)

And here's what I came up with!

Marceline and Beemo are both needle felted...

Marciline's Axe Bass is plaster cloth/cardboard,

and her amp is carved/painted wood:)

Here is her custom hand drawn/painted box:)

This is the original sketch I started with...

Then I painted it and inked the edges for emphasis and depth!

Best Buds Forever!

Finn and Marceline are great friends:)

Even though Marceline is much older than Finn,

she appreciates his fun adventurous personality!

Jake and Beemo are friends with Marci too!

She loves coming to the weekly movie club

hosted by Jake, Finn, and Beemo:) at their treehouse...

Finn the Human is just like any boy...He loves his video games!

Beemo and Finn love to play Adventure Masters together:)

These guys are all needle felted wool made by me:)

I used a variety of techniques and tools for this lil project...

For Christmas I got a table saw and dremil drill with

lots of accessories...so you will be seeing more things

I have created with my new tools!!!

Holiday Market Too 2011:)

Here I am working at the Holiday Market Too:)

I got to sell my art, clothing accessories, and kandi

for two weekends right before the holidays!

I was very proud of my lil pink tree:)

MissV and I made ornaments to cover it...

We sold a bunch and then

gave them as gifts to the other vendors:)

My booth was as packed as it has ever been!

I had lots of great gifts for under $40!

Of course my Adventure Time buds came along...

I had a WHOLE table of dogs:)

And a few cats were left...

While the market was going on I demonstrated

a lil needle felting for people passing by...

It was really fun to answer questions and

show others this fun felty art form:)

My friend Mell sells AWESOME hair accessories:)

As you can see...and she is the owner of Super Piggy!

Super Piggy gets to travel with her and

help her with sales:)

So of course I had to make her a needle felted

Christmas Super Piggy Ornament:)

They are both TOO adorable!!

DIY: Halloween Art Doll Class

Halloween is just around the corner...and my lil creepies are starting to come out...

So my newest thing coming up in October is my Art Class Series!!

Starting THIS SUNDAY OCTOBER 2nd!!

We will begin the art class series by making creepy cutie Halloween dolls!!

These dolls will be a less elaborate version of the ones I sell...BUT YOU get to be the ARTIST!!

Here's how the class works:

I will be posting class times on my etsy store. 12:00, 1:30, 3:00pm are the times you will have to choose from this weekend. You will have one hour to show up to the class and then about 30 minutes of instruction time and attention from me:)

What comes along with your class:

Basically you are also purchasing your "blank model" and then you will put on the fun finishing touches by painting and accessorizing. I will provide everything including aprons to paint brushes! You can go to my etsy store and purchase the class time that you want.

If you want to participate in the class, just print off your receipt as your ticket and bring it with you Sunday. Your "ticket" guarantees your class time. This weekend the market is hosting the Culture Fest and it is said to bring lots of people!!

I may be outside this weekend so please take the time to look in the front of the market near the football fields if you cannot find me indoors:) That is why I am giving people plenty of time in between classes to find me:)

This Week at the Market and My Newest Pieces!!

Hello:) First off I am sharing my newest

custom pieces this week:) Custom pieces are my favorite...

Here's my newest custom doll: Ingrid!!

She is about 9"tall and totally handmade by me:)

I made her body from recycled aluminum foil and

her fur is from a repurposed bunny

costume I made a few years ago:)

I really go attached to Ingrid and this is her story:

Ingrid lives in the cold misty mountains.

She gathers the sacred magical flower.

Legend says that these magical flowers give healing powers

to those fortunate enough to find them...

but only a trained eye can truly see them.

Ingrid must stay out in the snow for many hours searching

the snow covered cliffs for these magical flowers.

She was taught by her father, a master healer, where to look

for the red flowers and she does this everyday.

She is now a healer.

When Ingrid goes into the nearby villages,

she sets up shop for those seeking

the magic of the red flower.

She opens her doors to anyone

in need of healing and

offers them the power of the red flower's magic.

Here is another custom piece I made for another client:)

He is a dragon boat racer

and he added to a current piece I already had:)

He got me to add the dragon head

and lil drummer guy...I like the drummer:)

Again just like all of my pieces this is made 100% by me:)

And it is constructed from recycled materials...

Puppy Day at the Market!

Today was a dog friendly day at the market:)

All the coolest pups in town were there!

Meet Matilda the Golden Beauty:)

She is made from recycled newspapers!

And her boyfriend Jack came along...

They both have really cute lil "bubble" bodies

and they are adorably small!

My art students that came by today got to

make mini dogs and cats to take home!

The pups were all ready made by me

and painted white.

Then artists got to choose the pet they

wanted to adopt and

then paint it any way they wanted:)

We had some lovely rainbow and pink pups...

As you can see above, one rainbow kitty...

Children and adults of all ages participated...

My sculptures were for

sale on my back table...

Most of the artists liked to

look at them for inspiration!

The kids really got into making their pet personal...

Most even brought pictures of their own dogs from home!

I had a special table dedicated to this lil artist!

She really took her time and painted carefully...

Dad admires her work:)

The older kids got to sand their pieces to a smooth finish first...

Then they painted their pups more realistic colors...

like brown and grays:) I like both color styles!

Way to Go to ALL of my AWESOME students today!!

You guys were amazing!! And you're pets turned out great:)

Next month I will be working on

introducing a Party Package for anyone

interested in making art at their next party!

Like a Build a Bear kind of concept...

where each person gets to make a sculpture

Yesterday was my first day to sell my recycled art

at the Chattanooga Market!

Everything in my booth is made from

RECYCLED water bottles, newspaper, clothing, etc!!

100% GREEN ART!!

It was Peach Festival this weekend!

So I invited children and families to make

Fruit Creatures out of recycled newspaper

paper mache balls!

I made these guys for my fruit bowl display (left to right):

Bluebenny, Princess Peach, Johnny Apple, and Killer Watermelon

My juice bottle girls hung from this cool vintage ladder:)

These ladies are all made from recycled glass apple juice bottles!

I also made aprons for the kids to wear while

they are making their recycled art sculptures!

This is a close up of my new art dolls

that I have started making:)

I have always had a deep love for dolls

and even as a grown up I still collect them!

I went through a long love affair

with Bratz and now I have moved

on to Monster High and Liv Dolls!

I think I like my original creations BEST though:)

Next Week at the Market is

and doggie themed stuff in my booth for sale!!

I will also be making dogs with

Art Camp!!

Hello All:) For the last two days we have been at

ART CAMP!!

"We" being Miss V and myself...

we taught a paper mache class at OHS's

Art Camp directed by Carrie Cook:)

She had a great group of kids ready to work!

Miss V makes Tyler...her lil puppy:)

Here's Tyler all painted!

V even made him a collar

and a bowl of food:)

These were our two youngest students:)

They worked just as hard as the big kids...

and their pieces show it!

Katey decided to make a penguin instead of a dog or cat...

That means she figured out the shape all by herself!

She was an over achiever and made two pieces as well:)

Janet is a very talented sculptor...I really like her made-up creature!

I want to see it when she totally finishes...more pics to come I hope!!

very civilized "Mr.Cat"

kind of cat:)

Complete with bushy eyebrows!

She had so many details that made her piece too adorable!!

as camp went on...

Cat and his Fiddle:)

Hello:) I am Cat and I play the fiddle!

I am hand made from a water bottle

and in the paper mache' style.

I am totally handmade except for

my fiddle which was a gift:)

I have a wonderful cape

telling my nursery rhyme,

with a hand dyed cotton mural,

a plate and spoon and of course

the moon...as you can see below.

I am going to be back very soon.

Unfortunately during my photo

shoot I lost my paw!

So I am going to the workshop

hospital for repairs

and I will be playing in no time!!

She also has real fur!

She has real baby alpaca curls:)

She is so soft! Its hard not to pet her <3

Sequoyah Women's Ball Fund Raiser

These last few weeks have been busy...

I have been preparing for a big fund raiser event...

The Calhoun Women's Club 2011

Annual Sequoyah Ball fund raiser was raising

money for the animal advocacy group EPARG.

These ladies from EPARG are wonderful!

They find homes for sweet dogs and cats...

They also travel around their local area to

teach families about proper pet care.

I created a varied selection of cats and dogs for

each of the tables scattered throughout the mansion:)

I created about 30 pieces to be sold at the event:)

Each of the tables had their own fun characters

giving each one a new fun personality:)

The ball was held at a beautiful

mansion called The Darby House:)

The night went very well with lots of sales from the

silent auction as well as the live auction!

At the live auction EPARG provided

a puppy that was only 3lbs and so adorably cute:)

It was so soft and fuzzy:)

As part of my contribution to the event,

I donated a percentage of

my final sales to EPARG too:) Every little bit

helps and I am happy to do my part!

I made a couple bulldogs for this event which

turned out being my favorites:)

I love their huge tongues and funny expressions...

Each of the sculpted pets sat on dog beds

that I made with our new serger:)

I think they came out very well and

they fit with the decor perfectly!

I couldn't resist getting a picture of this beautiful

piano when the player was taking a break:)

Such a beautiful place even in the rain...

it poured all night and even on the drive back..

The band was amazing and the food was delish!

It was a lovely evening raising money for such a deserving group:)

Well...bye for now...I can't wait to see what comes next...

Hello All! Well I have fallen in LOVE...

In LOVE with our NEW SERGER!!

I have been making wonderful OOAK (one of a kind:)

repurposed fabric/clothing hats, scarves,

head bands, and even arm warmers!!

As you can see this first scarf is reversible:) Here's the blue side...

Now the other side...

The hat and other fuzzy parts are made

from a repurposed cashmere sweater:) So soft!

This scarf is so soft and LONG...Great for all kinds of looks:)

This hat is great because its super slouchy and long...

You can tuck up your hair or roll it down to cover your lil ears:)

Now for a little more funky look...

This pink sparkle scarf is luxuriously LONG...over 10 feet!

As you can see, this one is also reversible...

I like making things reversible...

it gives different looks to the same piece.

I made the head band and the arm warmers

out of contrasting patterns to add funky flair!

We've got stripes, sequins, silk,

and even a lil pink cheetah print!

Everything a girl could want:)

I am having a BLAST making these new accessories!!

Hey out there in blogland! I just wanted to share some new pictures of me...with my New Green Hair! All of these photos were taken by the talented photographer my daughter lil Miss V:) She styled my outfit hair and setup all the photos!

No I did not magically grow my hair longer overnight...

Dobby is a large sized house elf standing around 25"tall...

Of course this is a very happy Dobby who has recently gained his freedom.

Notice his shiny red sock. He holds it close with pride.

He even made a patch after a small tear

was made jumping on Harry Potter's bed.

He is now living in Maryland with a very sweet lady.

Fred the Good Dog Re-Made

The Fred is just a plain dog with mustard...

some consider this the only way to eat a proper dog.

Fred is made from pipe insulator foam, clay, and finished with acrylic paints.

He enjoys living in a trendy artsy neighborhood with lots of cool unique people.

Artists, musicians, students, and even business people come to see Fred at his resturant.

He spends Friday nights jamming to music by local bands.

Fred is truly a Good Dog...

And what Good Dog would be complete without his Halo?

Chili the Dog has been remade!

Long ago I made a lil guy named Chili for a wonderful local restaurant/hot dog boutique...called Good Dog!

Good Dog has tons of menu choices!

They have great music nights, family nights, and even $1 beer Thursdays.

I usually get a pimento cheese veggie dog and frites.

Frites are really thick cut potatoes that

are delicious!

Good Dog is a super fun place to be!

They have every kind of sauce you can think of to

top off your dogs and frites!

After eating at Good Dog...

I thought it would be funny to make a Chilly Chili Dog...

and Chili was born!

Now Chili is back at Good Dog sitting beside his brother...

Mr.B the Owl Update:)

Many of you have asked me about how I made the owl...

So I wanted to share a lil bit about how I made him for my brother's big 20th B-day!

I started with my traditional recycled items base.

Here I used a glass bottle that had a great shape for the

piece I was creating!

I made the wings out of foam core board and the feet out of foam.

Of course I tape everything down to style it temporarily...

I built up the skeleton base with foam and then began to cover it in the "feathers".

I cut out many many feathers from paper clay in three different sizes.

This is the skeleton base covered in plaster before I have added the paper clay.

I adhere it to the base with glue.

I placed the feathers all over the owl.

I covered him in a few layers of wood glue to seal him up.

Then I hand painted the details with acrylic paints.

He ended up looking a lot like a wood carving!

It was a very cool effect!

I had a great time making this for my lil brother...

I hope you enjoyed hearing about how I made him:)

Victoria Stilwell and Paws Around the World

Tonight I was the Featured Artist at the Paws Around the World
event dinner at the Mill.

I have been working hard making puppies and kitties

to raise money for the McKamey Animal Center:)

I had 10 dogs and cats featured for attendees to "adopt".

They were all on different tables and where people could get a good view of them.

I got to meet Victoria Stilwell:) She picked up one of my dogs at the end of the night... Most of them had been adopted by then...But she really liked Sissy:)

She is such a cool positive person!

Victoria really has a passion for animals and gave a wonderful speech.

Maya was adopted before I even got to the dinner!

The dinner was fabulous and we had a great time!

The menu featured different foods from around the world.

One of the servers was so nice to give me a "vegetarian tour"

of the menu so I could make sure to get these items:)

The Mill was a great venue and I am happy to have attended.

I am so happy all the puppies and kitties

were adopted to good homes!

Hello All! I wanted to tell you about the latest project I have been working on...

Animal Planet's Victoria Stilwell will be visiting our area on October 22 for a great party!

The star of Animal Planet's popular show, It's Me or the Dog, will be in Chattanooga to support the McKamey Animal Center.

I have been asked to make doggie and kitty sculptures for this event.

I will be the "Featured Artist" with a write up in the program:)

I am creating 10 dog and cat sculptures to be

sold at the event to raise money for McKamey Animal Shelter:)

I am featuring actual dogs that are from the shelter.

This is my puppy Maya that we adopted from the shelter:)

I make these sculptures from recycled materials.

This is the base I use for every animal. Water bottles!

After I build the base I wire up the neck, legs, tail, and ears.

Then I build them up with clay and foam.

To make sure they last for many years to come I cover the skeletons in plaster.

I seal them with wood glue.

I finish the final pieces by hand painting them with acrylic paints.

Then they come to life!

These guys are the first pieces of the ten...So stay tuned for more...

Birthday Cupcake Kit!

A baking present for a girl who's turning 9!

We got this cupcake mix for only $1! It was perfect for this kit:)

We wrapped everything in tissue paper so that the colors coordinated:)

Of course I had to I had to include my favorite chef Hello Kitty...with cute oversized stickers!

Zoe loved her present!

We made sure to include a handmade

card addressed to the birthday girl.

I wrapped the basket in plastic and topped it

off with a tissue paper flower:)

Doc Chey's Noodle House Atlanta

Doc Chey's Noodle House was one of my favorite summer spots to eat at in Atlanta! It is literally right across the street from Emory University along with a couple other lil cool eateries:) It is a Noodle House and a great place for Dim Sum. Miss V and I visited for dinner one night...

The feel of the noodle house was fun and causal. Not too many college kids but of course its summer... There was a steady flow of twenty something local couples and young families.

Little scenes were handpainted all over the walls in clever spots.

I loved these koi fish swimming above the counter.

The menu is posted in plain sight once you walk in the door.

Doc Chey specializes in noodle bowls and

Dim Sum which is a small portion of food for an affordable price.

We started off with some fried spring rolls that were

hand made minutes before they were fried up and served!

They even make their own sweet/spicy sauce.

This is the only place I've been to where they offered Sriracha on the table!

Everything on the menu can be made spicy or however you like it.

There are lots of vegetarian dishes and options for meat lovers too.

Almost before we had finished our spring rolls my Japanese Miso cup came out...

Now it may not look that big but it was a deep lil cup/bowl brimming

with soba noodles, wakame, scallions, and seasame seeds.

YUM!

I think I could eat this everyday of my life!

I ordered one of Doc's Favorites: Thai Coconut Red Curry. I added fried tofu to the Thai basil,

red peppers, onions, bok choy, potatoes, eggplant and this wonderfully rich coconut curry sauce.

I got brown rice as well.

Miss V got the Chinese Black Bean Noodles.

The red peppers, bok choy, onions, and rice noodles

were covered in this great spicy black bean sauce:) I think I ate

more of her food than she did. Next time I will get it a lil less

spicy for kids:) but for grownups its got good heat!

After all these great lil treats we sampled there was plenty to take home for later. Our server brought out everything all boxed up along with fortune cookies and orange slices:)

This was a refreshing way to end a fresh tasty meal!

I will most definitely go back to Doc Chey's Noodle House the next chance I get!

eliZabeth's New Art Doll

eliZabeth my lil cousin came to stay with us for a few weeks this summer! Today is her birthday and this is what I made for her!

We went to Gigi's to get her a Birthday cupcake...

eliZabeth really likes her lil "mini me" and they even have the same personality!

On a trip to the mall eliZabeth got some super awesome shades...

they were so cool even her doll wanted some!

She is complete with a baby Spot and her favorite volcom skirt!

Even her nails are painted just like eliZabeth's!

We had to take this Alaskan girl to the best cupcake place ever:Gigi's to pick her birthday cupcake...

Ummm...Cherry Limeaid...

And Birthday surprise...This was the winner of course!

From One Artist to Another...

This weekend my family and I attended a cool party in the park. The kids have birthdays super close so they celebrate together:)

The lil girl was turning 7 and she is an aspiring artist...Well well well:) You know I loved making this gift!

Meet my first ever grown up clothes pin doll! I remember making these as a kid...but its been a while. She has "real" hair you can style, a rose, and a lovely summer dress:)

The lil boy was turning 5 so I got him his favorite...Spider Man...and a summer treat:

SlipnSlide! Yay I remember sliding down the hill on those when I was young:) Summer entertainment that lasted for hours!

After playing in the fountain the girls and I headed over for something cold!

I got Fuzzy Navel:) It was sweet and cold and wonderful on this HOT day!

The kids filled up on hot dogs, baked beans, and chips! They had huge pieces of cake:)

This was a double cake! It was so cool! The girls side was vanilla and the boys chocolate:)

I think the kids liked their presents:) I am always a big kid at this part...waiting to see what's inside:)

I filled this Art Basket with TONS of cool stuff! I centered the basket around a piece of recycled cardboard covered in pretty paper. Then I decorated clean Paint cans with ribbons, bows, buttons, and printed Art Can on the front. There was everything a kid needed to make just about anything on a lazy summer day...

It was a lovely day to be at the park...

UnCookedArt's First Wedding

My cousin Allison got married just over a month ago...My mom and I "did the flowers" for the whole wedding:) It was so much fun making the bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, and the table arrangements.

We used fresh cut flowers from Costco!

These were beautiful flowers that held up really well...

My mother made the cake topper.

After a quick spritz of water...it headed out to the fridge:)

The rehearsal dinner was really fun:)

I loved all the little personal touches added in here and there.

I was even given a special vegetarian plate...I always appreciate people remembering

We stored the finished arrangements in the fridge.

Then we took the flowers to the church in

big buckets with the AC on HIGH!

We pulled up to the church and were greeted by this sign:)

The tables at the wedding reception were very simple but elegant.

There were tea lights that glowed as the sun began to set...

These lovely little bags contained hand made soaps that smelled amazing!

I have many more pictures to share of this beautiful wedding but that's all for now...

Vegan Veggie Burgers!

All of the sudden I thought VEGAN VEGGIE Burgers! It was a naturally occurring letter "V" event right before I decided to post:)

Tonight we had a lovely Vegan dinner:
Blackbean Chipotle Veggie Burgers

Topped with cooked Vidalia onions, spicy agave ketchup, stone ground yellow mustard, pickles, butter lettuce, tomato slices, and vegan melting cheddar cheese...along with seasoned Potato wedges... I always cook my veggie burgers in the toaster, its the easiest way to cook them thoroughly and make them a lil crispy on the outside:) Just pop them in on the DARK setting and let them toast...you will have to do this a couple of times and then you will have a perfectly cooked burger. I have the stand up kind but I'm sure any kind of toaster will work. If you cook the veggie burger too long it will just get a lil dry...just add some lovely toppings and its all good! Enjoy!

Tracy is Almost Ready to Fly Away!

Well, Tracy is all finished and almost ready to fly over to meet her new owner...The Real Tracy:) We took her to tea this weekend to wish her well on her journey to a new home in the UK. First of all we started with a selection of finger sandwiches and a large pot of tea! We had to order a second one because Tracy couldn't get enough of their Twinnings:) The sandwiches were lovely and I had to order a second plate to share with Miss V...

Miss V insisted that she take a picture of the both of us...

This is Tracy all finished and ready to meet her new owner.

This is the Real Tracy who will be happy to meet Tracy the Doll.

Tracy likes tea so I must send her away her a nice full hot cup...

While Tracy was "In the States" we did a little shopping...We found this darling little handbag at an outdoor market. Doesn't it match her necklace beautifully?

This skirt is another lovely piece Tracy found on a fun shopping trip to my favorite antique boutique:) She loved the lace detail over the silky vintage fabric.

Tracy will be traveling elegantly in her very own personalized box.

She will be very safe in this box because it is lined with soft felt.

Of course I included gifts for her host when she arrives...a wonderful selection of teas.

I loved this pocket watch detail that included Tracy's initials...

This side of the box includes one of my favorite teas, Irish Breakfast! I am an Irish girl...

The top of the box highlights Tracy's animal loving side...

I included old shipping labels and western union slips to represent the long journey Tracy will be making to the UK.

I had to put Big Ben somewhere on the box:)

I used a lot of different textures in this piece!

I love the way different textures achieve different effects...don't you?

I used soft fabrics, scratchy glitter, smooth decoupage,

bumpy metal embellishments, crinkly paper, and tons of others...

I love how this project turned out and I plan to do another Follower Giveaway in July! I have used a former table runner, used for our Harry Potter birthday party, for her skirt. Her necklace will consist of many "pearls" strung together and then painted.

Tada! Now KEEP IN MIND Tracy is STILL UNFINISHED...But I think she is looking really cute:) I will include many more details and I am SO EXCITED to get started on finishing this unfinished piece but SOMETHING VERY UNFORTUNATE HAPPENED TODAY...

We were sitting in the living room watching Fruits Basket, my favorite all time anime:) And POP!! The TV and lamp POP right OFF and I smell something kind of BURNY...I kinda of frantically look around like "What just happened?" I check everything out. No FIRE...good...but why is the TV not working...the awesome flat screen that HappyMrs.C got us for x-mas...OMG! Why is that not working!!??

So I try to flip the breaker...Nothing. I call J and he says "I will figure it out when I get home"...Well I am not really the kind of girl that just sits and waits so...I Unplug a few things, move a couple things into different rooms, and Unplug the power strips connected to the TV. I flip the breaker again...

We have POWER AGAIN! Yippee!

But what was that burny smell? A couple hours later...

I plug the glue gun into the outlet near me to quick glue a couple things for my piece pictured above. Well, I look over after smelling that weird smell again and AHHHH!!!

The GLUE GUN IS SMOKING!! OMG! What!!?? AHHH!! Smoke is literally coming out of the holes in the sides!! I immediately Unplugged it and took it outside to cool off and NOT CATCH MY HOUSE ON FIRE! So I am so happy to solve the mystery of the electrical blow-out...My glue gun...It was pretty powerful I guess.

This is why I have UNFORTUNATELY not finished Tracy's lovely Art Doll present:) So sorry Tracy:) I will venture out in the morning and buy and new glue gun...I am SO SAD to admit I actually use a glue gun and I cannot proceed at this stage without one...I promise its just a little. Only one stick a day...he he:)

"T" is for Tasty Treats!

This week has been crazy busy for me and it has flown by!! We had family visiting from Alaska and we had a blast taking them around our city as little tour guides:)

Last Sunday I did a guest blog spot on making Ravioli Lasagna:) I also made mini fruit pizzas and I wanted to share them now! Let's head out to get the ingredients we need...

Start off with your favorite fruits:) I use the pre-cut organic fruit cups sold at Greenlife but you can use anything you have on hand.

If you are making these mini pizzas and you don't have much time just grab some pre-made sugar cookies from your bakery case:) If not just buy some of the refrigerated cookies that you bake at home:)

Don't forget to grab some heavy whipping cream on the way out...

That's everything we need now let's get started:)

If you are making your own cookies...

When you get home pre-heat your oven to 340 degrees so you will be ready to cook them ASAP:) They only take about 12 minutes to cook so that's enough time to prep everything else...

While we wait for the cookies to bake, let's get started on the Whipped Cream:) Get a small bowl to make the cream nice and fluffy. Just pour in about a cup and you can add a little sweetener if you want at this point. I like to leave it unsweetened since all the other components in the pizza are so sweet:)

Now grab your mixer and use the whisk attachment...If you have a wonderfully talented cooking assistant like Miss V, you can ask her to whip the cream for you. If not, just whip the cream with the bowl slightly tilted at an angle just like Miss V is doing here. Try to go in the same direction for nice fluffy cream:) Whip just a couple minutes and you will have a nice thick cream to top off your pizzas:)

Now that our cookies are done we can let them cool, while the cream is chilling in the fridge:)

I set up a lil fruit pizza buffet so that we could all make our own creation:)

When the cream has chilled and the cookies have cooled...It is time to make our mini fruit pizzas! Just start with your cookie crust, top off with your homemade whipped cream, and finally top it off with plenty of your favorite fruit!

My Cousin Brittany Brown:Recent Pharmacy School Graduate

My family is filled with brilliant women and my cousin Brittany is no exception:) She recently graduated with her Doctorate Degree from the Pharmacy School at the University of Tennessee! She has studied super hard and really done a superb job in school. She has a sweetie pie husband, Ben, who has a sparkly smile and a great love for Brittany:)

Brittany's mother, Mickie, had a lovely reception celebrating her daughter's accomplishments. We made the drive and I made her a personalized doll:) She is a future pharmacist holding her diploma and clipboard. I decorated the box with a pill bottle, fringe, and jazzy paper:)

The reception was so nice! There was a lovely tent outside with tables and candles...There was a nice breeze so it wasn't too hot to stay and sit. There were big tubs of water and REAL bottled Coca Colas! So cool!

Guest Chef/Blogger Spot with Marvelous Mommy: Ravioli Lasagna

Well this weekend I have been asked to be a guest blogger on http://marvelousmommyamy.blogspot.com/
So I will be sharing one of my favorite meals Ravioli Lasagna.
First off let's take a trip to the store and get everything we need for this meal...you may already have some of these ingredients in your fridge so check first so you don't double up:)

Now let's grab our re-useable bags and head out!

Make a list when you go to the store to keep you on track:)

To make Ravioli Lasagna, you will need:

1 bag frozen raviolis

1 bag Soy "Meat less" Meat Crumbles (look like ground beef)

1 jar spaghetti sauce

1 package mozzarella and 1 package cheddar

1 sweet yellow onion and 1 head of garlic

2 heads broccoli, 2 large carrots, and 2 bell peppers

Now we have to run to the wine store to talk to our friendly, sommelier, wine guru, Chris!

He recommended this lovely dry Italian red Montepulciano D'Abruzzo

to go along with the red sauce lasagna:)

All right, now we are all packed up and ready to make some dinner!! At our local natural foods store, they actually give you $0.05 0ff for every bag you bring in...

We also get reverse osmosis water in gallon jugs for only $0.25!

Tonight we will be making 3 medium casserole dishes for each member of my family...

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees and let's prep our veggies!

Wash and chop the onion, garlic, 2 carrots, bell peppers, and broccoli:)

I use a crinkle cutter for my carrots to add a little fun!

Heat up your pan while you chop your veggies...

I add a lil splash of veggie stock and a pat of butter to my onion and bell peppers. The garlic goes in last so it will not burn...Next add your Quorn Soy Meatless "Meat Crumbles" just like ground beef.

That's pretty much the most complicated thing you have to do...Now its time for the fun!

Line the bottom of the dishes with olive oil, then your "meat crumble" mixture, veggies, and sauce...

Add about 9 raviolis to the middle layer...

Then just layer again in the same way and top off with a nice pile of cheese!

Bake at 400 degree for about 20minutes and you're ready to eat!

While these are baking, prepare your rolls with grated butter...um so Julia Child:) Heat them for about 5minutes when your lasagnas are almost done...

Now take out of the oven and enjoy a lovely meal with your family!

Well, I am back from the big Wedding Road trip with lots of cool stuff to talk about and tons of cool pictures to share... But today I am starting where I left off last week:) We were so busy with all the wedding fun that I didn't get much time to work on my newest art creation: Lovie Dovies!

This is my newest piece that I just completed for my cousin Alli and her new husband Andrew! I was so excited to finish it and give it to them that I almost could NOT wait!

This piece is inspired by Alli and Andrew's enagagment pictures:) They are an adventurous young couple who are tons of fun!

When Andrew proposed to Alli, they went on a special hike to a nearby waterfall...I loved that story so much that I had to work the waterfall in somewhere:)

Anna Claire Meets Super AC

I finished off the Super Anna Claire box with this label I made...I also included her super powers on the back of the box with lil cartoon illustrations describing each power:)

Here is the final version of Super Anna Claire complete with press on sparkle nails and plastic wrap...

AC totally spotted us across the store and

ran over with her camera in hand!

I think she likes it...AC is taking her Super Hero

to school today to show it off:)

I know I would have done the same at that age!

The girls decided to get a small snack of chocolate cake, a giant peanut butter cup, and froozie smoothies:)

The girls had a blast outside eating their treats and Miss V performed a Heely show for us all:)

Quirky Quidditative Never Querimonious Glamour Girl Anna Claire,

my newest creation for a friend of mine.

Anna Claire is a SUPER GIRL!

She is a dog walker, a soccer player, and a student!

So she's always on the go and always stays busy...

When I gave Rachel her doll (pictured behind AC), Anna Claire totally loved her! So I thought since her birthday is coming up...It was the perfect time to make an Anna Claire Action Figure!

I made AC in an anime/cartoon style so

that they look similar but not exactly alike:)

Anna Claire is a querist quidnunc who has many friends who love to talk about nail art, cell phone bling, puppies, soccer, or whatever she's into at the moment:)

She comes complete with a set of Sparkle Nails and Puppy Friend:)

Anna Claire is a girly girl that isn't afraid to get dirty:)

You've gotta love that!

She can get her nails done, play with puppies,

and still text 100 words a minute:)

Anna Claire loves art and we had a blast making Bottle Cap barrets:)

I don't know any of the dogs that Anna Claire walks

Puppy Pita Pizzas, Teacher Appreciation, and the Playboy Mansion

I am taking out the pots, pans, and the panchion preparing this post! This week is Teacher Appreciation week at my daughters school...V has a very prefectly wonderful panoptic teacher this year Mrs.C (not my mother, but she is a wonderful teacher)
I wanted to show my appreciation for all her hard work by making her lunch everyday this week:)

On today's school menu we have Pita Pizza's, which can also be called Puppy Pizzas for those of you who like to spoil your pets (like me). I first saw this recipe on the show: Girls Next Door, about Hugh Hefner's old girlfriends and their everyday lives at the Playboy Mansion. The girls were having a Puppy Birthday Party for Bridgete's dog Wednesday...and the chefs served the Puppy guest as well as the Human guest this pizza...Its super yummy, fast, and good for you! I make it all the time for a QUICK lunch:)

First of all, grab your favorite Pita bread from the store. I got these very small ones for this lunch idea, but I ususally use the larger ones. Take your pitas out of the bag and toast them on a baking sheet at 375degrees for about 5mins. This will ensure no soggy crust, no matter how much you weigh it down!

Now its time to make the sauce while the pitas are toasting!

I always start with a 1/4ish cup of stock in a small sauce pan, and I add in the tomato paste and sauce. The stock helps to break down that tough tomato paste. I also add in salt, pepper, olive oil or butter, and garlic:) This sauce now just needs to heat up and only takes a few minutes.

When I am done making the pizza sauce I make sure to save about 3/4 for another recipe for another day. Just use an old washed out glass jar to store the sauce in the fridge. Take the pitas out of the oven, they are toasted enough by now.

Brush the pitas with either butter or olive oil, just to give the pita a lil flavor.

Now its time to load up your lovely toasted pitas! Today I used bell pepper, but I love to get the meat-less pepperoni for these pizzas! I was out of mozzerella so I used cheddar...Usually I would use mozzerella AND cheddar...but FRESH mozzerella sliced on top is the BEST!

Place the topped off pizzas back into the oven and let them get nice and bubbly (about 10 minutes or less)!

Time to add the secret ingredient and my favorite: FRESH Basil! We are growing our own this year and its growing so well already! Grab as many nice basil leaves as you can spare and wash them throughly:)

Roll the basil up and chiffonade(slice) it into nice long strips to top off the Pita Pizzas:)

Top off the Pita Pizzas with the strips of fresh basil and enjoy! It will smell AMAZING!

Give them to your favorite teacher. Give them to your kids. Give them to your puppy...

Take your friend on a walk and suprise them with these...

you can both take a well deserved pizza snack break!

I also included in Mrs.C's lunch a fruit tart, carrot sticks, and fresh (almost) summer watermelon!

I love to share food with others! Mrs.C has enjoyed her food this week and I have had fun making her fresh, organic, and even vegetarian food! Mrs.C isn't a vegetarian so it was great to hear her say she hasn't even missed the meat in these dishes:) GO Veggies!

Super Hero Update and Weekend Goodies!

This weekend I gave Rachel her Ordinary Super Hero:) She really seemed to like to it! We came by to see her at work after going out to eat at Taco Mamacita...

At Taco Mamacita I got the El Camino Margarita and The Cadillac.

We started the meal off with this SUPER fresh Guacamole and Chips! Afterwards I ordered the Black Bean Taco with Mexican street corn:)

Then we headed over to give Rachel her present...

This was literally the moment she saw her doll up close...

I think she likes it:)

After giving Rachel her Ordinary Super Hero, I wanted to get some dessert/tapas:)

Terra Nostra is a Tapas and Wine bar. You order lots of little dishes and share them with friends:)

Miss V ordered the Creme Brulee...which was a REAL creme brulee with a hard shell! When it came to the table the crust had to set...then V could crack into it:)

She ate the whole thing! I got the Blue Puffs...they are Fillo Pastry filled with blue cheese and topped with a sweet warm jam:) There were three and I should have gotten more...

This afternoon V just had to have a sweetie...

Ran down to Rembrant's and got this sweet lil cappucino cup:)

I have recently discovered these lovely lil beauties...Nun Pastries:) These are puff pastries filled with chocolate creme and topped with chocolate and vanilla icing!

Just wanted to share a few lil guilty pleasures we enjoyed this weekend! I look forward to posting some HEALTHY recipes very soon...I always eat healthy so these are the little treats I like to share:) Next week I will be featuring "my food"...All vegetarian and 100% fresh!
